Sister of Pitiless Mercy
'Kneel in veneration, Vileblood, for it is time for cleansing.'
Cygne is a member of the Executioners. She wears a variation of the Excecutioner Garb. She can be found in the outskirts of Cainehurst Castle. In your first encounter with her, she can be seen maiming fiends gleefully in the snow, drenched in blood and viscera.
Despite her naturally shy and demure nature, she is extremely fervent in her faith and preaches passionately as she strikes down her foes. She can be overcome with a devout bloodlust, driven mad to a righteous fury. Outside of hunting and punishing Vilebloods, Cygne lives a humble and modest life filled with prayer and virtue. She enjoys simple things and does not want for the material or the indulgent.
'I shall grant you Absolution, paid and repaid in blood.'
history
From an early age, Cygne exhibited a rare combination of pious devotion and a fierce determination to root out evil. Orphaned by the Plague of Beasts, she was taken in by the Healing Church and raised within the sacred walls of the Cathedral Ward. There, she was taught the doctrines of the Church and trained in the art of healing and faith.
the call to the cloth
Cygne's devout nature made her an ideal candidate for the convent, where she took her vows and donned the habit. Her life as a nun was marked by a serene dedication to prayer and the care of the sick and wounded. Her days were filled with quiet reflection and acts of charity, and she became known among the sisters as a beacon of purity and grace.
the revelation
Despite her tranquil exterior, Cygne harbored a deep, unspoken rage against the abominations that plagued Yharnam. She saw the suffering caused by the Beasts and the corruption within the Church itself. Her faith was tested, and she found herself drawn to the darker aspects of the Church's teachings—those that spoke of divine retribution and the cleansing of the wicked.
Her path took a drastic turn when she encountered Alfred, a devout member of the Executioner Covenant. Impressed by her unwavering faith and her latent potential for righteous fury, Alfred introduced her to the ways of the Executioners. Cygne discovered a kindred spirit in Logarius, whose mission to eradicate the Vilebloods resonated deeply with her own desire to purge the world of evil.
the scarletnun
Cygne embraced her new role with a fervor that shocked even her fellow Executioners. Beneath her demure and devout exterior lay a violent and unyielding spirit, fueled by a divine wrath. She became known as the Scarlet Nun, a title that reflected both her crimson habit and the blood she spilled in the name of justice.
By day, she continued her duties as a healer and caretaker within the Cathedral Ward, her gentle demeanor a stark contrast to the terror she unleashed by night. Clad in armor beneath her habit and wielding a fearsome scythe, Cygne hunted the Vilebloods and other abominations with a relentless zeal.
Sister Cygne's dual life became a whispered legend among the faithful and the feared. To the pious, she was a symbol of the Church's mercy and compassion. To the wicked, she was a harbinger of divine vengeance. Her story serves as a reminder that true faith can wield both the balm of healing and the blade of judgment, and that
